STANISLAUS COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION CLASS TITLE: CHARTER ACADEMIC INSTRUCTOR REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Provide individual and small group instruction to students. Assist in the development of curriculum materials and individualized lessons involving academic, vocational and technology skill areas at the secondary level. Work cooperatively with parents, community agencies, and/or school district staff to provide a positive and productive learning environment to all students. Assess academic and social growth of assigned students in pursuit of graduation. Perform related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE OF: Lesson planning. Grading procedures. Basic academic, vocational and/or technology skills applications. Individualized instruction teaching techniques. Record-keeping techniques. ABILITY TO: Motivate and counsel students with possible attitude, self-confidence or behavior deficiencies. Organize curriculum and learning materials. Conduct tests designed to assess academic, vocational and/or technology skills. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: teaching credential in the appropriate academic fields (elementary or secondary) and prior teaching experience in academic areas, grades 4 to 12 preferred. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Pass an employer-paid pre-employment physical/drug screening. ENVIRONMENT: Classroom environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Seeing to read instructional materials, rules and policies and other printed matter. Hearing and speaking to exchange information and make presentations. Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students. APPROVAL DATE: 11/09/00

One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full time or part time, paid or unpaid. -High School diploma requirement by one of the following methods: high school diploma, or high school diploma based on GED test, or foreign equivalent of a high school . RECOMMENDED DOCUMENTS: The following documents are recommended at the time of application: -Resume -Letter of Introduction -Transcripts ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The following documents are not required at time of application, but will be required prior to employment: -Department of Justice fingerprint clearance -Tuberculosis clearance -Physical/drug screen clearance -Official Transcripts
