Job Description

Develops and initiates quality measure of performance standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.

* Performs First Article Inspection (FAI) of new component repairs for completion & compliance to governing process requirements.
* Performs quality review of internal repair instruction documents for new products for accuracy & adherence to requirements.
* Receives primary tasking & direction from the Repair Development Engineering Manager but functionally reports up through Quality.
* Coordinates operations/engineering/quality assurance reporting and interactions regarding new product development quality and documentation.
* Audits new processes to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, testing, & measurement equipment.
* Investigates and reports on quality concerns and potential implications with warranty and safety issues.
* Analyzes and summarizes compiled data from test and inspection reports. Generates statistical reports identifying quality concerns for submission to various levels of management for review and corrective action.
* Researches quality methodology and solves quality problems with engineering staff.
* Assists process & training department with the development and presentation of training sessions on quality activities in areas such as measurement methodology, statistical process control and test fixture operations.
* Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
* Carries out special projects as assigned. Strong planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
* Strong project management & technical writing skills.
* Knowledge of component repair manufacturing processes and original equipment manufacturer manuals.
* Knowledge of airworthiness certification requirements for regulatory bodies.
* Working knowledge of appropriate application of precision measurement equipment & statistical process control techniques.
* Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
* Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints or technical figures.
* Undergraduate degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or aerospace engineering; or equivalent.
* Several years of experience in a manufacturing or aerospace repair environment.
