Job Summary:

Covenant is looking for a dynamic intern to work with the regional health systems strategic services division. This position works closely with the Director of Strategic Planning on a broad spectrum of strategic and administrative activities along with health system operations, and performs various support tasks in specified department. The fundamental role of the Strategic Planning Intern is to set-up a method for tracking performance on the approved Integrated and Strategic Financial Plan (ISFP), on a monthly basis collect and submit performance metrics, and develop various presentations (some monthly, some ad hoc) related to Covenant Health's performance. The Strategic Plan Intern will attend a variety of administrative, project/department specific, and health system meetings gaining first-hand knowledge and interaction with health system leaders and staff .

Essential Functions:

1. Provide support to the Director of Strategic Planning, and the EVP of Strategy.

2. Provide support for various committees, task forces and management groups, including planning, agenda drafting and assignment follow-up.

3. Coordinate and assist with special projects as directed by the EVP of Strategy

4. Participate in selected meetings gaining experience and first-hand knowledge of health system operations and activities.

5. Prepare summary documents for review and discussion for meetings

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: Currently obtaining an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Management Information Systems from an Accredited College or University

Experience: Office experience with computer skills (and Microsoft Office Suite)

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Strong academic background with office education classes
