Responsibilities will focus on planning and implementing corporate market research studies with emphasis on business-to- business research. Will lead research initiatives to address key corporate needs including evaluation of customer experience, customer needs assessment, segmentation and product development and evaluation. As a principal analyst, will provide leadership and expertise in advanced statistics and modeling techniques. Must be self-directive, proactive and attentive to satisfying clients' requests with high-quality deliverables.
•Designs and manages business-to-business corporate research initiatives. Works collaboratively with internal clients to deliver extensive analysis and reporting customized to meet their research objectives.
•Oversees energy-efficiency program evaluation research.
•Manages corporate research projects from start to finish, including discussion of the business issues, defining research objectives, designing and implementing the research, analyzing the results and delivering insightful research-based recommendations.
•Provides internal clients with in-depth analysis, trends and insights based on research data.
•Prepares high-level research summaries and presentations for executive management.
•Conducts sophisticated data analysis and predictive modeling to help address key business questions and solve business problems.
•Trains and mentors others on research methodologies, execution, and modeling.
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree plus an additional 18 units post-graduation in an area of specialty.
10 years professional experience in discipline plus professional recognition. Planning experience in utility planning, marketing planning, management, communications, market research, economic forecasting, applied energy-related engineering experience or related area.
Prefer MBA or Masters in Statistics or equivalent.
10 years professional experience in conducting market research is preferred.
•Strong analytic skills with at an advanced understanding of research design, techniques and methodologies to meet defined research objectives.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to formulate presentations and deliver to executive management and diverse internal client groups
•Ability to translate data into strategy that provides direction and insight to clients and provide recommendations for business process improvements and new initiatives.
•Experience in conducting advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
•Expertise in utilizing statistics software, e.g., SPSS or SAS
•Excellent project management skills.
•Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build partnerships throughout the organization and work in a collaborative environment.
•Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines.
•Comfortable working independently with external research partners and managing the contractual relationships.
