Customer Service Specialist/Backup Dispatcher - Full Time

You understand what it means to provide exceptional customer service. You are an accurate and fast typist who has experience with computers. You are a person who is detailed oriented, has exceptional problem solving skills, can work with minimal supervision and enjoys a fast paced environment. We invite you to submit your application for the position of full-time Customer Service Specialist/Backup Dispatcher at The Spokesman-Review. 

What we want you to do…

You must be flexible to work 40 hours a week between the hours of 3am-12pm on Saturday & Sunday and between the hours of 3am-3pm Monday-Friday.

•You will provide customer service to our subscribers, newspaper carriers, courtesy 

drivers and District Managers.

•Qualified applicants will input carrier route information regarding subscription stops, starts, and changes into the computer system. 

•You will be comfortable offering basic tech support to our subscribers.

•You will use a cell phone and computerized program to dispatch newspapers to courtesy drivers and working with District Managers, carriers, and delivery assistants to handle carrier delivery issues.

•Position also needs to occasionally delivery newspapers to a variety of offices in the building within a maximum 1 hour time period.

Who you are…

• You have prior customer service experience and dispatch experience preferred.

• You have outstanding listening and phone etiquette skills (will be tested upon application).

• You can accurately type 45-55 WPM (will be tested upon application).

• You have excellent spelling skills.

• You have strong multi-tasking & organizational skills
