ONLINE DEVELOPER
Are you a news app developer? Would you like the freedom to try out new ideas and to grow, while having an immediate impact in the newsroom of a family-owned newspaper? The Spokesman-
Review is recruiting for a full-time Online Developer for our award-winning newsroom.

At The Spokesman-Review you'll have the chance to help us continue to adapt to the changing landscape of digital journalism. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in the development of new digital special sections and in the creation and enhancement of internal tools and utilities. Keep your journalism skills sharp by working closely with reporters and photographers to tell stories about
Spokane.

Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain websites using the Python programming language and the Django Framework for both internal tools and external sites.
•Create, fix, and deploy code on the software level and troubleshooting problems on the site.
•Build web-based tools.
•Share knowledge of internet techniques and technologies with staff.
•Train and support staff on best ways to use internal tools.

Requirements and Skills:
•Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred; or four-plus years' experience in web development or application programming; or equivalent combination of both experience and education.
•This position requires proven experience with web application development, core understanding of programming concepts, and fluency in Python, HTML, JavaScript and CSS as well as experience with SQL.
•Prefer experience with Django or other MVC Framework.
•Experience with journalism or news media is a plus.
