Job Summary

This role is a great early step in your career where you'll gain high visibility and rapidly expand your experience by serving as the primary financial support person for our Field Sales teams. As a Financial Analyst you'll be responsible for assisting this 150-person team through a wide variety of financial planning and analysis activities including generating reports, providing detailed analytics, processing check requests and making recommendations based upon your findings. This is a highly visible and challenging role that will provide an excellent platform for future growth opportunities within the company. Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Finance, as Financial Analyst your mission will be to provide comprehensive financial planning and analysis support to our Field Sales team. Although you'll focus the majority of your efforts on serving as the financial "go-to" person for this large field sales team, you'll also provide support to the Channel Marketing team. On a daily basis, you'll work hand-in-hand with the sales team to generate reports, conduct analysis, provide reporting capabilities, process payments and check requests, and much more.

Working parallel with two other Financial Analysts on a small, close-knit team within the Finance group, you'll help offset some of their workload by assisting with key activities such as calculating sales bonuses, updating and maintaining pricing templates and other day-to-day reporting processes. This is a cross-functional business role supporting our portfolio of lock and hardware brands, and you can expect to interact with all levels of management in our Sales, Marketing, Accounting, and Finance departments.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

* (25%) Provide financial analysis and reporting on actual spending, estimates & budget. Prepare annual budgets and monthly estimates with emphasis on Sales SG&A. Works with all levels of management in compiling budget information.
* (20%) Review and validate builder/plumber rebate requests and initiate payments, in addition to other payment and credit requests supporting the Field Sales team.
* (20%) Review, analyze and ultimately approve or dispute customer deductions via our credit memo issuance process.
* (15%) Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, analyze reserve balances, create P&Ls as well as customer specific reporting tools.
* (10%) Prepares annual bonus metrics and agency commissions, providing monthly & quarterly reporting of actual results.
* (10%) Complete other special projects for various departments as necessary.

Education and Experience Profile

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* 2+ years of experience supporting a sales organization, preferably in the consumer products or building industry

Required Skills

* Knowledge of financial analysis and general accounting principles (GAAP) and SOX compliance.
* Experience using Microsoft Excel (Advanced-level), PowerPoint, Word, Access and Essbase
* Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative analysis skills.
* Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
* The ability to handle multiple ongoing tasks and projects simultaneously.
* Ability to build strong relationships and sense of urgency.
* A high level of integrity and team player mentality.
