Flight Safety Engineer
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering expertise in the area of design, development and test avionics hardware used in the Falcon Flight Termination System (FTS) Duties include subsystem design and prototyping, schematic capture, prototype bring-up and debugging, hardware bug tracking, functional verification and signal characterization. In addition, support through production and test is expected. Designs and maintains assembly level test programs to support production Supports launch site integration of FTS systems and test flights Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent area of focus. Candidates must have at least 3 years of combined project experience in the aerospace or electrical engineer field; significant applied research projects, internships, and traditional professional experience all qualify Preferred Skills and Experience:
Masters of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent area of focus Experience with orbital dynamics and/or Guidance, Navigation and Controls Experience with embedded computing system design Additional Requirements:
Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time in support of launch and test activities Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere Excellent communication skills both written and verbal ITAR Requirements:
