Sourcing & Procurement Manager

Position Summary:

This position provides oversight and direction to Southern Ute Shared Services procurement process. The Sourcing and Procurement Manager develops, guides and measures the process of selection of suppliers, segmentation of supply base, contract negotiation and compliance, metrics management, conflict resolution, and supplier performance management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business, or closely related field and ten years’ experience in a sourcing and procurement management role is required.
  • An Associate degree in a similar discipline may be considered with 15 years appropriate and relevant sourcing and procurement management experience is required.
  • Must possess an understanding of large company strategy in order to select, govern and innovate with supply base.
  • Must have experience establishing authority within the sourcing and procurement organization and have the ability to positively influence other functions within the organization, such as engineering, finance, development, operations and legal.
  • Must possess strong people skills with an ability to envision, energize and enable the sourcing and procurement organization and other functions, and, where necessary, lead performance management decisions.
  • Must have an ability to work multi-functionally across organization boundaries and lead the shift from an inside-out culture to an outside-in, customer-centric organization.
  • Must have proven negotiation, analytical, conflict resolution, collaboration, data-processing and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have experience working with multiple partners to resolve exceptions and negotiate best alternatives.
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure with limited supervision.
  • Must be well-organized and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must have experience using PC-based applications (such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project).
  • Must have successfully managed a large pool of assets.
  • Must have successfully worked in a team-based environment.
  • Must have strong analytical and conceptual skills linking issue resolution to process improvement.
  • Must have strong computer-based data management and analysis skills.
  • Must have experience with sourcing and procurement budget responsibilities.
  • Must possess strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be willing to assist others, learn new skills, and participate in a productive team oriented environment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license for state of residency and be insurable by the Growth Fund vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal history background check.
  • Must qualify for Southern Ute Gaming License, Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check and certification, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification and any other licenses or certifications required or requested by Southern Ute Shared Services.
