Job Description

The Chemistry Department at Southern Illinois University
Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for a tenure-track
position in fermentation science at the Assistant Professor level,
to begin July 2018. The successful candidate will teach courses and
laboratories in support of the Department of Chemistry, especially
in fermentation science and biofuels, at the undergraduate and
graduate (MS) level, and contribute to the introductory chemistry
program. We seek applicants with a documented body of knowledge in
fermentation science and biofuels. A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical
Engineering, or related field with demonstrated interest in
fermentation and/or biofuels is required at time of hire, and
industrial experience is a plus. Post-doctoral research and/or
teaching experience is preferred.
Applicant will work closely with the NCERC facility on campus, a
pilot plant for advanced biofuels research.
