Junior Test Designer, QA Team | Sony Computer Entertainment America - PlayStation | San Mateo, CA

As a Junior Test Designer, you will be responsible for defining and creating test criteria for PlayStation® branded system software, and digital commerce products and features. You will be expected to build test cases from scratch based on developer documentation, limited information and/or investigative practices, and maintain / update existing test cases based on evolving specifications and ongoing research. Also, as an important component of this role, you will be able to communicate / collaborate locally and globally with multiple project stakeholders on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:
Write in-depth test cases for PlayStation® branded OS and commerce products / features Review upcoming products / feature implementations via developer documentation and/or investigative practices Define test strategy and prioritization based on product / feature review Distribute finalized test cases to QA team(s) for use in test execution Support / oversee execution of test cases to address unexpected results or blocking issues Update / maintain existing test cases to optimize coverage and account for newly implemented features and changes to products Collaborate with various levels of personnel on product features / functionality, test strategy & requirements, and scheduling
This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner Yoh Services.

Ideal Skills needed for the role:
Prior experience in a Test Design or QA Testing role Possess and QA Test Engineering certification or equivalent work experience Understanding of established testing concepts, the fundamental test process, test approaches, and principles to support test objectives Professional experience in working with a team to achieve common goals Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong MS Excel and other Office applications skills Good understanding of networking protocols, technologies and configurations Consumer-level knowledge of PlayStation® products, features and OS Passion for Gaming - on PS4 - a huge plus Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 1 years' working experience in Test Design and/or Test Design Certification 1 years' working experience in QA testing (game industry experience is a plus) ISTQB Foundation Level certification Extensive experience with PlayStation® products, features and OS Working experience with digital commerce / DRM (e.g., online storefronts, product entitlements) About PlayStation
