The Assistant Controller is responsible for the accurate representation of the financial condition of the dealership, develops controls necessary for the proper conduct of the business, maintains accurate records, and establishes and maintains the data processing capabilities to accomplish the dealership's objectives. The Assistant Controller will assist the Dealership Controller and Regional Controller in ensuring compliance with the Company's policies. The Assistant Controller supervises the assigned staff within the store to ensure timely completion and adequacy of assigned tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide support to all departments within each dealership to produce increased revenue, control expenses; contribute to customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment for all team members.
* Insure that the accounting records are maintained in an orderly, current and accurate condition at all times.
* Insure that all company policies are communicated and followed.
* Maintain internal controls to insure compliance with company policies.
* Hire, manage and train dealership office personnel.
* Audit the balance sheets and schedules regularly and address any possible problems while keeping Dealership Controller informed of problems and potential liabilities.
* Assist operations with dealership forecasting and budgeting.
* Ensure timely completion of all financial statements, Monthly Work Papers and reports and address any issues.
* Prepare reconciliation of all dealership balance sheet accounts and purify reconciling items every month.
* Review every schedule in the dealership every month and make necessary corrections.
* Ensure that the DOC is prepared daily in a timely manner and is accurate.


* Accounting degree or equivalent experience.
* 3 years' experience managing the accounting records and reporting and accounting staff of an automotive dealership.
* Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
* Excellent analytical and computer skills.
* Experience with dealership management computer systems (ADP and Reynolds & Reynolds).
* Very strong PC skills including Excel and Microsoft office products.
* Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
