Job Description

This is a growth position responsible for the design and development of present and future Solar Gas Turbine packages. It is a technical focal point for responding to mechanical or system engineering design analysis and development of new, existing and legacy Solar Turbine products. Accountabilities include: Working on mechanical, bills of materials, hydro-mechanical and/or electrical systems of all Solar Turbine products or project packages. Providing technical support to the complete range of Solar Engineering organizations including: turbo-machinery, gas compressor, standard product, project, application, test and field. Identifying, improving and customizing necessary package features to maintain a robust and reliable gas turbine package. In addition, position will solve engineering problems with customers, design engineers, project management and suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Environmental or Computer Science/Engineering fields

Minimum overall GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale

Must have obtained a degree within the last 3 years

Preferred Qualifications

Internship in a related field.

Basic knowledge of PLC and/or HMI programming

Basic understanding of computer modeling, MATLAB®/Simulink, Computational Fluid Dynamics, or 3D Modeling.

Proficiency at reading Engineering Drawings.

Flexibility to understand and work with suppliers of package system products.

Ability to interface with a broad spectrum of individuals with varied degree of technical expertise in turbo-machinery systems.

The ability to write and communicate ideas clearly, to work well with others, team spirit, flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines.

A sense of urgency and organizational skills are required to work with multiple projects and competing priorities.
