Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - WI

location: Milwaukee, WI

Duration: 11 Months (Possibility of extension)

Pay Rate: $40.54 Per Hour

Description:

  • Complete risk retirement testing, tooling and fixturing design and implementation, equipment development and qualification, process development and qualification activities for introduction of new product design in existing manufacturing line. Should have demonstrated competencies in these areas through previous work experience. As part of this role, must use Quality Management System and Good Manufacturing Practices for FDA regulated Medical Device Manufacturing to complete said qualification and validation activities. Interface with partners across Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing to coordinate and execute work.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Develop new or update existing fixtures to retrofit existing manufacturing line/process for a new product design
  • Complete process development and testing activities to define how to revise existing manufacturing line/process for a new product design
  • Based on process development activities, complete updated equipment qualification and process validations to qualify the new product design on the existing manufacturing line
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma and Digital tools in development to ensure Design for Manufacturing across all processes and equipment. Ensure early focus on manufacturability in new product programs. Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, tooling and equipment development and QMS Design Transfer execution
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Knowledge and understanding of document control, design transfer, verification, validation, acceptance activity, DMR, DHR and electronic signature requirements to ensure that product, equipment, tools, processes, software, training and documentation meet requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years' experience or Associates Degree and 5 years' experience or High School diploma with 7 years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting
  • Previous work experiences with ownership or qualification of manufacturing tools/fixtures, equipment and processes.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to identify and implement Best Practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS/PHD in technical concentration/field
  • 7+ years industrial experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • 6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified
  • Experiences in Process Intensive manufacturing
  • Product and Process Development experience
  • Solid working knowledge of GEHC QMS procedures for GMP
  • Experienced developing tools and templates
  • Demonstrated program or project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience owning production processes/growing capability in yield and quality
  • Experience working with global teams
