Job Description

Summit County Government's Snake River Treatment Plant is seeking a well-qualified Laboratory Manager to oversee daily processes and lab procedures.

Working under the direct supervision of the Chief Operator and the general supervision of the Utility Director, the Laboratory Manager is responsible for sample collecting and performing or overseeing daily process control and CDPHE/EPA discharge permit analysis, record keeping and reporting; QA/QC testing and reporting as required by regulatory agencies; coordinating sample collection for offsite laboratory analyses; purchasing lab materials and equipment; performing special testing as required; performing plant operation duties as needed; working weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge of operational principles of a wastewater treatment plant; advanced knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, laboratory testing procedures and process control related mathematical calculations; MS excel, MS Word and general database reporting; BA/BS degree in chemistry, biology or related science preferred but a high school diploma or two-year degree in a related field in conjunction with at least 2 years’ experience is acceptable; no experience required with related BA/BS degree; minimum Class “D” Colorado Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s Certification or ability to attain within first year of employment.

$2,070.08 to $2,277.09 bi-weekly plus excellent benefit package.
