Community Living Coordinator and Direct Support Professionals

Community Living Coordinator - annual salary range: 28,600 – 36,500

Community Living Coordinator - General Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Two years of IDD or similar field experience required.
  • Requires a high degree of skill in written and verbal communications with professional staff and with primary and secondary consumers
  • Ability to work as a team effectively
  • Required to participate in on-call rotation
  • Full time schedule is required to flexibly work days, evenings, weekends and occasionally nights. The majority of this time is actively supporting and managing staff and client and agency interests through contact. Will be required to physically cover vacancies when not staffed.
  • A working knowledge of principles and techniques of behavior modification and behavior management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before employees and parents/guardians.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divided all units of measure
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists (ability to handle and make rational decision with crisis situations that may occur within the residential program).
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Direct Support Professional- 

Pay Scale-Hourly Range ($8.50 - $12.00)

  • $8.50 for any shift for non-driving staff and/or staff not certified to pass medication
  • $9.00 for weekly shifts (9am Mondays-9pm Fridays)
  • $10.00 for weekend shifts (9:00pm Fridays – 9:00am Mondays)

General Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The DSP shall possess knowledge and understanding of needs of persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, and be a mature role model.

  • A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required, and one year experience working with adults with mental retardation or developmental disabilities is preferred, Preference may be given to applicant with college education
  • Knowledge of meal preparation, nutrition, food purchase, and food sanitation is preferred.
  • Must be at least age 18.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the principles of behavior modification.
  • Must have a working knowledge of disabilities.
  • Ability to plan, organize and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
