As the Big Data Mobility Insights Service Engineer, you are responsible for the delivery of our Mobility Intelligence platform/products and support for customers in Australia. The position engages with clients in planning out project scope and the delivery schedule, with support from the Product team and other service engineers to localise and customise as appropriate for customers. 
Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring product health, optimising system performance, and the provision of product support. This role is the expert of our products to the clients, owns the feedback loop for customer issues and bridges viable enhancements to internal product engineering teams. This role will also lead troubleshooting for various technical issues that may arise from the demand partners and clients while championing the platform capabilities.
What makes you perfect for the role?
  • Bachelor degree or higher in computer science, statistics or a related field and passion for customer success and deep interest in understanding client needs; 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in operations management, strategic technical support, data science or engineering with exposure in big data systems or Cloud Platform such as Hadoop, AWS and Cloudera;  
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical support, software development or a related field with experience in addressing post-production issues, technical support escalation and account management; 
  • Superior project management, account management skills and demonstrated professional experience providing expert-level technical support; 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in high pressure situations, with strong organisational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritise work accordingly;  
  • Strong critical thinking and exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with sound knowledge of data analytics and data engineering to spot cause of issues faced by clients;  
  • Able to leverage deep knowledge about the Australian market and build business networks to grow the demand for DataSpark’s offerings; 
  • An outstanding ability to understand business problems and articulate a corresponding solution based on DataSpark solution;  
  • Experience managing various levels of stakeholders and external clients, and confident in presenting proposals and gathering customer requirements and delivering results; 
  • Understand how to use various products of DataSpark and merge with insight to deliver new insight products;  
  • Experience in active commercial deployment of emerging Big Data technologies and real-time analytics; 
  • Self-starter willing to explore, research, experiment and innovate and ability to deeply interact with engineering and data science teams on technical topics; and 
  • Familiarity with data science and big data infrastructure, highly organised, self-motivated, pro-active, and able to plan and explain technical information in business terms;  
  • Good experience managing large and small vendors plau a wide range of people, organisations, strategic alliances and partnerships.
If you have the following, this would be highly advantageous... 
  • ETL, Python and React UI coding experience; 
  • Deep familiarity in the Telco space will be a significant advantage; and 
  • Knowledge of Telco operators, large enterprises and government agencies in Southeast Asia and Australia.
