Sinclair Community College is currently seeking talented qualified candidates for the following career opportunities:

  • Aviation Program Coordinator (job# 03522)

The position coordinates and directs all aspects of Sinclair’s aviation programs for the Aviation Technology Department. These programs include professional pilot, aircraft dispatcher, flight attendant and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The coordinator will develop courses required to meet curriculum objectives, monitor student performance, and ensure compliance with FAA and VA regulations and guidelines. The coordinator will also market the program throughout the Miami Valley to recruit students and identify collaboration opportunities with other academic institutions and aviation businesses.

The Coordinator position directly supports the Aviation Technology Department’s chairperson, faculty and students.

Effective performance in this position will result in Aviation students accomplishing their personal and academic goals while receiving required FAA certification as pilots, aircraft dispatchers, flight attendants and UAS operators.

  • Police Officer (job# 03534)

This position is responsible for the safety of all individuals utilizing the main Sinclair Campus, the satellite campuses and the surrounding areas. The safeguarding of the physical assets of the college is of paramount importance, as is the further enhancement of a safe working and educational environment for faculty, students and staff members. The Department of Public Safety operates as a fully functional law enforcement agency within a business environment and located within an urban setting of a major metropolitan city. Officers must balance their duties as police officers with their responsibilities as Sinclair employees to promote the success of Sinclair College. Given the myriad of Mutual Aid Agreements of which Sinclair is a signatory member, police officers must expand their areas of responsibility, thereby becoming positive stewards for the entire region.

Sinclair police officers are professional, certified law enforcement officers as established by the Ohio Police Officers Training Commission and are bound by their rules and regulations pertaining to training requirements. In some instances, Sinclair’s Department of Public Safety has implemented more stringent requirements in order to provide an exceptionally high standard of police officer for the college environment to enjoy. All full-time Sinclair police department officers are subject to a one (1) year probationary period.

About Sinclair Community College

Sinclair Community College is operated by the Montgomery County Community College District and is part of the state system, which is coordinated by the Ohio Board of Regents. Trustees bring to the Board a wide range of experience from the business, industrial, and educational communities of the Dayton area. The nine-member Board for the college approves plans and internal policy decisions recommended by the President, administrative officers, faculty, and staff. Six trustees are appointed by the Montgomery County Commissioners and three by the Governor of Ohio. Members of the Board serve overlapping five-year terms and may be reappointed. The membership reflects a cross-section of the constituencies of the Dayton community. As granted under Ohio law, the Board has the power and authority to make final decisions about matters of educational policy, financial management, personnel appointments, and physical facilities development.
