Job Description:

This Biochemist I position is in the Walpole Technical Operations Department supporting Atellica and ADVIA Centaur Systems Immunoassay product production.



Scope of work: Participate in and investigate Walpole immunoassay manufacturing and/or customer escalation issues. Participate in investigations and provide input into corrective and preventive actions. Participate in the design of experiments. Coordinate and perform data analysis and write internal reports and documentation. Participate in design and process changes following written protocols; prepare validation, verification, characterization, feasibility and/or test result reports. Participate in the investigation of the performance of new and re-formulated assays and manufacturing processes. Participate in the investigation of the performance of raw materials for use in manufacture of immunoassays. The candidate will work in the laboratory running Centaur and CP instrumentation as well as next generation platforms with serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin.



Typical Education: BS in Medical Technology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry.



Typical Job Related Experience: 4+ Years



Specific skills: Candidate must have a good understanding and knowledge of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies as well as the principles of immunodiagnostic technology and immunoassays. Demonstrated ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Experience with automated immunoassay analyzers and/or ELISA and chemiluminescent technology, as well as, protein chemistry and chromatography knowledge and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistics as well as Minitab statistics software are a plus. Candidate must have a strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Candidate must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to switch priorities to meet business needs.
