Responsibilities

\n

This developer would be a part of a software development team dedicated to creating a high quality product to improve rail safety. Responsibilities within the software development process include:

\n

* Software design

\n

* Software implementation

\n

* Software enhancement and refactoring

\n

* Software maintenance

\n

* Software unit and integration testing

\n

Performance is based on quality and quantity of software, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team.

\n

\n

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

\n

\n

* BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience

\n

* 2-5 years of software development experience

\n

* Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages, preferably C++/C

\n

* Object Oriented programming experience

\n

* UML experience

\n

\n

Knowledge and Experience:

\n

Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Typically 2-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

\n

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

\n

* Experience with other languages a plus: Python, Perl, Java, C#

\n

* Experience with Linux preferred

\n

* Experience with development of embedded systems a plus

\n

* Experience with ClearCase or other SCM software

\n

* Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.

\n

* Work well in small teams, where collaboration is key to the success of the group.

\n

* Able to communicate efficiently with a broad cross section of technical and non-technical colleagues

\n

* LI-ANW
