Responsibilities :

Real Estate (RE) is a Shell Function responsible for defining and implementing real estate policies and strategy, program delivery (PD) and services in the areas of property, real estate projects, facilities management, corporate travel, operational security, and records management. The role of RE is to provide top-quartile functional leadership across the Group and to enable Shell to extract maximum value from its real estate assets and related activities. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Real Estate Portfolio Manager are to lead the local RE Portfolio Managers in the delivery of acquisitions, divestments, portfolio management, construction and refurbishment projects in order to support delivery of the Group RE Program. The Portfolio Managers also provide consultancy and support within the real estate program delivery function in the US and Latin America and provide close working support to the Real Estate Strategy team in the production of site, strategic land use, metro, and portfolio master plans. Specific duties include: Be a working line manager of local RE Professionals within the US with responsibility to prioritize, co-evaluate and supervise their workload. Lead a team of 5-7 Staff. Actively coach staff in their development and actively imparting knowledge to them. Responsible to deliver complex and significant project portfolios within the RE plan. Governance: deliver projects through mandated RE-ORP governance structure and process ensuring Group mandates are met managing projects to time, quality and budget. Conduct complex negotiations on own, or as part, of a professional team. Stay updated with the assigned Business drivers, targets, and organization changes and external RE factors influencing performance and strategy. Promote the implementation of continuous business improvement Develop and maintain relationships with Business Opportunity Managers (BOM), Decision Executives and local stakeholders. Managing the PD activities in a sustainable way in line with Group sustainable development mandates and frameworks. Provide key input into Portfolio Plan feasibility studies Have responsibility for real estate related Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) matters in accordance with Global HSSE policy. Own and manage the Group RE Plan accurately updating any program and portfolio data into RE IT systems as required. Supervising project portfolios and transactions ranging from USD multi million capital investments to small scale but often complex acquisition, disposition, lease and build to suit requirements. Supervising the delivery of proceeds and operational cost savings in accordance with the RE Plan.

Requirements :

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer. Bachelors degree required; MBA, JD, or second degree level qualification or equivalent preferred. An appropriate real estate industry qualification and/or institute accreditation. Minimum ten (10) years real estate experience in commercial and industrial real estate required. Substantial project and major transaction experience with real estate at a strategic level required. Proven leadership and management experience within a Corporate Real Estate environment. Ability to engage and work with senior business leaders up to ex-com level.
