Responsibilities :

Conducting laboratory pilot reactor testing of varying hydrocarbons feeds and catalysts for an ongoing R&D program Safe laboratory operation including participation in safety audits, management of chemicals, and upkeep of facilities Operation and maintenance of the laboratory reactors and pilot plants Reactor loading & unloading Unit start up & shut down Collection and analysis of catalyst and product samples Data entry into unit spreadsheet Troubleshooting unit problems Equipment maintenance and repairs Demonstrate initiative by suggesting and implementing lab improvement projects through application of new techniques or equipment Analysis of results, posting of results, detailed and accurate record keeping of experiments Interface with project engineers & chemists to discuss experimental data and plan subsequent experiments Handling of chemical samples Preparation of standards and samples Operation and maintenance of chemical laboratory equipment, including various analytical instruments

Requirements :

Associates degree or higher in Chemistry or Chemical Technology Must have legal authorization to work in the United States Must demonstrate a high degree of safety consciousness. Basic safety skills include: MSDS awareness, chemical storage, waste disposal, proper handling of toxic or hazardous materials Experience in chemical technology in a R&D laboratory setting is a plus Experience with operation of GC's and related software is a plus Experience with operation of pilot reactors and autoclaves is a plus Experience with high throughput testing equipment and/or combinatorial chemistry techniques is a plus Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills Ability to work well with others in a team environment Must be able to lift loads of up to 40 lbs. Minimal travel as required by business
