Job Description

Location: Sheetz Corporate - Altoona, PA

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Support the Sheetz culture throughout the organization by administering employee relations functions that have been designed to ensure that all employees are treated fairly, consistently and in accordance with the high ideals of Sheetz.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
  1. Maximize the development of internal talent through regular performance coaching, performance reviews and presenting developmental opportunities.
  2. Align area objectives with the strategic goals of the department.
  3. Monitor annual budgets for assigned area of responsibility to maximize profitibility.
  4. Manage the application of human resource policies, procedures and processes to support the daily operations of the company and the Sheetz culture. Will escalate high profile or high liability issues to the Director of Employee Relations & Programs.
  5. Assist and collaborate with leaders throughout the organization, providing advice and expertise regarding Employee Relations issues and initiatives that are critical to the success of their respective departments/functions and the overall organization.
  6. Provide counsel, education and training to Sheetz HR Business Partners in SDS and CLI. in regard to employee relations issues.
  7. Ensure that all Sheetz, Inc. Human Resource policies, procedures and processes are administered in accordance with current federal, state and local employment laws.
  8. Assist and collaborate with Sheetz, Inc. legal department and outside counsel as applicable in responding to various compliance lawsuits including EEOC, etc.
  9. Identify issues that impact or concern Sheetz, Inc. employees by collecting information through various forums (i.e. Employee Hotline, Sheetz, Inc. forum, meetings, etc.)
  10. Develop content for and participate in the delivery of employee relations education programs for Sheetz managers and supervisors to ensure an understanding of expectations related to Sheetz employee relations policies/procedures/processes and employment laws, rules and regulations.
  11. Identify metrics that will help measure the effectiveness of the Employee Relations function. Identify patterns and trends by monitoring and reviewing these metrics with the understanding that this information should be used to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  12. Identify and lead Employee Relations projects and initiatives that support overall company goals and objectives.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field; Master's Degree in Human Resources preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years in an Employee Relations related role required
  • 2 years Human Resources supervisory experience required
Licenses/Certifications
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
