Job Description


The intern will use research and creativity to create a recruiting strategy and program for diverse candidates, while also learning more about our existing programs and partnerships.


In this internship, you will help develop our approach to recruiting diverse talent and shaping the partnerships that enable us to reach more communities and individuals. Responsibilities & Duties

* Demonstrate commitment to Shedd's vision, mission and values.
* Partner with the Assistant Director of HR to develop a deep understanding of the current state and needs with regards to diversity recruiting.
* Analyze recruiting processes to identity improvement opportunities related to diversity.
* Conduct research on best practices in recruiting and engaging with people of diverse and varied backgrounds, to identify top sources to recruit diverse candidates.
* Establish and develop thoughtful partnerships with organizations focused on underrepresented talent.
* Research best practices for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to staff and candidate diversity.
* Monitor recruiting and staff metrics, reporting back to Assistant Director and Senior Vice President on determined KPIs.
* Implement tools for tracking performance of program.
* Research and strategize on best way to engage and educate hiring leaders across the organization on diversity recruiting initiative.
* Other projects as assigned.


Desired Majors: Business, Communications, Human Resources or Related.

Desired Year in School: Student currently enrolled in a degree program or a recent graduate.

Other Skills/Characteristics:

* A team player who is able to translate diversity and recruiting needs into actionable insights
* Ability to establish strong relationships
* A passion and persistence for improving the efficacy of diversity recruiting strategies and a solid understanding of its importance.

Time Commitment

Time commitment - 12-15 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on intern availability. Minimum of 3 month commitment.
