Sephora's Loss Prevention Agents protect the assets of the store against theft and work with management to maintain operational controls to reduce shortage.

Loss Prevention
  • Conduct surveillances on the sales floor as well as utilizing the CCTV system to identify, observe, and apprehend or deter individual(s) from committing external theft(s).
  • Identify and report to the District Loss Prevention Manager potential internal theft opportunities.
  • Adhere to all laws and Sephora policies concerning apprehensions, search and seizure and the preservation of evidence.
  • Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations and audits.
  • Testify in court on behalf of the company, in any case, criminal or civil, to which the Agent is summoned.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with all store personnel as well as local law enforcement agencies, mall security and other retailers.

  • Operations
  • Conduct store self-audits, checklists, and safety inspections, and communicate findings to the store Leadership team.
  • Assist store leadership with inventory preparation and process.
  • Partner with the store and District Loss Prevention Manager in the development and execution of shrinkage prevention plans.

  • Training
  • Heighten and maintain store Loss Prevention awareness by attending and participating in store cast meetings, new hire trainings and continuous cast training.


    Knowledge, skills required
  • Strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Experience Desired
  • 1 year of assets protection/loss prevention experience in a retail environment.

  • Minimum Education Level
  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Requirements of the Job
  • Able to work flexible hours including days and nights, weekends and holidays appropriate to the business needs.
  • In multi-store areas, the Loss Prevention Agent must be available for assignment to all stores in the area.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to stand/walk sales floor for entire shift.
  • Satisfy and maintain all licensing requirements (as required by state or local jurisdiction).
  • Able to work in a fragrance filled environment.
  • Conform to Sephora dress code
