The Talent Co-Manager reports to the Store Manager and is responsible for ensuring the personnel functions of the store are running efficiently, and that the store is properly staffed and trained. This includes being responsible for schedules, recruiting and on-boarding. The Talent Co-Manager works closely with Human Resources on people development and employee concerns as well as supervising the Education Assistant Manager, and may assume Store Manager's responsibilities as needed.

  • Demonstrate and model client service and onstage leadership standards.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards.

Recruiting and Hiring
  • Set recruiting goals in partnership with General/Store Manager. Source candidates as well as recruit externally to develop a bench of qualified candidates.
  • Set up and conduct interviews, reference checks and background checks. Generates offer letters and ensures new hire paperwork is complete.

People Development/Human Resources
  • Ensures store leadership executes consistent and timely preparation and delivery of performance appraisals and formal development conversations.
  • Ensures all Sephora policies and procedures are adhered to, and escalates employee relations issues to Human Resources when necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring Sephora values are living in the store, creating opportunities for employees to be engaged and feel appreciated.

Minimum Educational Level
  • High School Graduate or equivalent. College degree preferred.

Experience Preferred
  • 2-5 years retail/service experience (dependent on store's volume) with management and recruiting experience.

Knowledge, skills required
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Cosmetic experience desirable.
  • Excellent leadership skills required.

Requirements of the Job
  • Work in a fragrance filled environment.
  • Handle and apply cosmetic products to clients.
  • Able to work flexible days/nights/hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to bend and stretch to stock shelves.
