About the Department of Engineering and Computer Science: The Department of Engineering and Computer Science offers undergraduate majors in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, general engineering (with concentrations in mechanical engineering and appropriate and sustainable engineering) and information systems, providing students with excellent preparation for professional careers through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on learning. All engineering majors are ABET accredited. The department is part of the College of Arts and Sciences (Division of STEM and Social Sciences) and is committed to building an excellent and diverse faculty who desire to be part of a supportive Christian community in which students are prepared to become responsible and effective servant-leaders.

Job Description:

Full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position available September 2017. Appointment is in the Department of Engineering and Computer Science. Position is subject to funding.

Responsibilities:

* Teach on a nine-month contract of about 33-36 quarter credits, typically including a variety of courses throughout the undergraduate curriculum of Electrical Engineering, as well as related courses in Computer and General Engineering.
* Serve as a resource for student design projects.
* Advise undergraduates.
* Establish and maintain an active program of research/scholarship.
* Participate actively in the life of the department, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University.

Requirements:

* Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (i.e., Computer Engineering).
* Specialty in analog electronics will be given high priority.
* Commitment to undergraduate education.
* Evidence indicating the promise for scholarly production.
* Compatible with SPU's ecumenical Christian mission as expressed in the University's statement of faith (http://www.spu.edu/about-spu/statement-of-faith.aspx).
