Job Description

Seagate's System Integration Engineering (SIE) department is seeking a Software or Computer Engineer to join our team at the design center in Longmont, CO. In this role you will be supporting the development of disc drive firmware for cutting edge products. Specific responsibilities of this position are design verification testing, test script development and maintenance, and test failure analysis. The developed tests support the validation of firmware features in the Integration Engineering test labs. This is an excellent position to demonstrate your software programming skills through innovation, creativity and complex problem solving. You will primarily support the firmware test labs, but will often find opportunities to work with development teams in other disciplines as well.


* Design, develop and debug of software algorithms to perform testing of new features and requirements ( Current tests are written in C, C , and Python).
* Integration of new tests into the Systems Integration Lab.
* Interfacing with firmware development engineers in the run-break-fix cycle to verify feature design
* Communicating with customer application engineers and standard committee members to obtain complete understanding of new feature.


* Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or similar Applied Sciences major
* Programming experience in C/C
* Basic understanding of computer architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience communicating technical issues, both written and verbal
* Experience programming in Python
* Experience with SATA, SCSI or NVMe interface
* Experience solving complex problems, specifically, computer logic and programming
* Desire to work in a fast paced, constantly changing, team environment.
* Proficient at self-learning new skills, tools and software
* Experience with the Agile development process
