Seagate's Reliability organization is looking for a Reliability Test Development Engineer to join the Longmont, CO team. This position will be responsible for the test and development work associated with product (HDD) testing. The candidate must have a broad software background and be able to plan, conduct and coordinate software development activities. This position will report to the Sr. Engineering Manager.

Additional responsibilities are as follows:

* Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission-critical problems or questions in computer language.
* Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
* Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission-critical applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
* Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development.
* Analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
* Ensures software standards are met including documentation and version control.
* This engineer must also be willing to work across multiple test/manufacturing/design centers to drive common processes. This may require some overseas travel and after hours teleconference calls.

Job Requirements:

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical/Mechanical engineering degree and 0 to 2 years related experience or Masters degree in the same.
* Experience in Python, C/C , and Java programming languages.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Some overseas travel may be required.
* Ability and willingness to collaborate with other engineers and within team.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience developing in a team environment, experience with Agile development process.
* Database experience.
* Linux OS experience.
* Knowledge of Mandarin.
