Job Description

STC is searching for a part time and/or summer intern that can be an integral part of a center of expertise to fully exploit existing and future space remote sounding assets for both weather and climate applications. The candidate may have the opportunity for full time work after a successful probationary period. The candidate may also have the opportunity to continue as a part-time or summer intern for multiple years.

Specific duties will include:

* Develop a user interface to access remote sensing data from the NOAA archive system, which will involve computer, and science related experience.
* Write documentation (e.g., user guides) and assist with peer-reviewed papers on data dissemination approaches, algorithm validation, and climate sensitivity derived from satellite measurements.
* Assist in the implementation of various algorithms supporting NOAA and potential commercial customer.

Requirements:

Candidate should be working towards a BS/BA degree or advanced degree in physical sciences, engineering, computer science or related areas. Applicant should have experience using at least one of the following programming languages: IDL, Python, or Matlab.
