Job Description

This well-established South West Dallas manufacturing company is actively seeking to hire one mid-level and one senior level Relay Applications Engineer for direct hire positions.

Both positions require theoretical knowledge and experience in the design, operation, testing and maintenance of relay protection equipment as well as associated substation equipment.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for companys products via the telephone, with personal visits, demonstrations, and hands-on training primarily for the relay protection products. Validate product specifications through application testing of hardware and software products and provide feedback for product enhancement/improvement. Contribute to product specifications, software, and application literature as well as product design & development.
Participate in marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences. Prepare white papers, application notes and technical articles to reinforce company as subject matter expert in relay protection.
Should be able to present on different theoretical topics and case studies at conferences and technical meetings

Qualifications:
 
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters degree a plus

MUST HAVE:

3-5 years of experience for the mid-level position and 7-10 years of experience for the senior position, both focused on relay field testing/commissioning.
Familiarity with electromechanical, numerical and Microprocessor protection relays from various vendors
Knowledge of different relay protection principles and hands on experience in relay testing.
Have good working knowledge of the methods and procedures used in utility substation design, maintenance, protection and control
Experience in the installation, testing, and maintenance of protection and control systems, PLC systems and associated substation equipment
Knowledge of application of advanced standards such as IEC 61850Knowledge of NERC standards as it relates to relay protection

Required travel (approximately 50%)

Position requires strong computer skills including knowledge of various Windows platforms, software installation, various PC I/O ports and Microsoft Office
Creative, driven and self-motivated individual with strong customer focus
Spanish language fluency a plus

Relocation assistance available for highly qualified out-of-town candidates. Will consider highly qualified candidates with a transferable H1b visa (no corp-to-corp). This is a Full time position and candidates must be willing to work onsite (no remote option).
