Job Description

This highly visible central Dallas company is seeking to hire an experienced manager with a solid background in Data Acquisition and Reporting to lead this technical support team. This individual is responsible for managing a team of direct reports as well as consultants involved in data acquisition and reporting of large numbers of records (from one to three million per month). Other duties include: oversee design, development, implementation, training and maintenance of relevant applications; monitor project activity with an emphasis on prioritization of projects and resources; maintain programs involving documentation, database changes, etc. for production. Qualified candidates will have:

-Strong experience in planning, development and support in a Business Intelligence (BI) environment including Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Data Analytics, Quantitative Analysis, etc. At least some hands-on background with data acquisition and Business Objects and other mainstream reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) needed to contribute to the guidance of team members.

-Strong leadership qualities, with at least 4+ years of experience in management roles in a BI/data acquisition department. This should include a background supervising a team of several direct hires and contract personnel, managing and prioritizing workloads, budgetary responsibility of $50k to $100k plus projects up to $1M+, creating metrics, etc.

-Industry experience from any of the following strongly preferred: energy/oil & gas, commodities trading, utilities, Fortune 500 (transportation, manufacturing, telecom, large financial institutions).

Candidates must be able to provide specifics regarding knowledge and experience in remote data acquisition including overseeing and accounting for large amounts of data records, as well as knowledge of defining reporting strategies (data management, report management, methodologies, report and data templates). Other interview queries will include examples of management strategies and process implementation experience.
