Job Description

Scale Computing is looking to hire an entry level Systems Administrator to work in our Indianapolis office. The IT Department at Scale exists to provide exceptional support to all Scale employees, and to research, procure, install, and support Scale's production technology. Our job is making sure everyone else can do theirs without tech being an obstruction. This includes constant improvement in our users' experiences through new (and better) products and solutions. The Scale IT department prides itself on being fast, helpful, friendly, and proactive. As such, the ideal candidate will have experience or a degree in Information Systems with very strong communication skills, and a willingness to be a jack-of-all-trades in everything tech-related.


* Administration of both on-premise and cloud services, including Active Directory and G Suite
* Troubleshoot end user hardware and software, including Mac and PC laptops, VoIP phones, and accompanying accessories through the use of our internal helpdesk system
* Manage internal services running on Windows and Linux in multiple locations
* Install, configure, and optimize the production network, including switch and firewall configuration, VPN, and wireless networks
* Discover, evaluate, and integrate new solutions that are the best fit for the company and its users
* Assist with asset tracking and management


* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
* Ability to quickly gauge a user's technical proficiency and communicate effectively with every Scale employee
* Proficient with macOS, Windows, and Linux clients and troubleshooting related issues, both in person and remote
* Familiarity with minor computer hardware repair, including replacing some components
* Knowledgeable of networking protocols, terminology, and switch and firewall configuration
