Workforce Development Board Executive Director

Part-time 20 hours per week $30K annual salary

The Executive Director for the Saratoga-Warren-Washington Workforce Development Board (SWW WDB) serves as the primary staff support for the Board and related committees. The purpose of the WDB is to identify local workforce needs of business, develop resources and services to address identified needs and to coordinate a system of local services for both business and jobseeker customers.

This is accomplished by engaging business and business organizations, providing oversight of our local career centers and of the use of federal workforce funding (WIOA) received for these efforts, and engaging other local partner organizations in a collaborative process to assist local businesses, workers and job seekers. Duties include employer engagement/outreach, workforce planning, representing the WDB at the State and County level, coordinating system services and coordinating WDB meetings. The Executive Director works closely with the Associate Executive Director, the Executive Committee of the WDB, our career centers and other workforce boards in the region to accomplish established local and state goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years experience related to business outreach, operations management or business administration.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with education/workforce programs, grant writing, management and supervision.
  • The position requires proven facilitation and communication skills along with basic computer proficiency including word processing, spread sheets, etc.
  • Local and occasional regional travel will be necessary.
