Job Description

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We are looking for a (Junior) Technical Writer, or as we call it at SAP a "User Assistance Developer (Associate)" to support the SAP HANA in-memory database and new data management applications. Our technologies are the basis for new, ground-breaking applications that enable significant increases in performance, real-time analysis of business data, and Big Data scenarios. If you enjoy technical writing, have a strong interest in software, and are curious to work in a high-paced environment of a multinational world-class company, then we look forward to receiving your application. You will receive training that covers the technical and documentation-related aspects relevant for your job. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
•    Writing documentation for software applications: for example, online help, manuals, and tutorials  
•    Providing additional, target group-specific user assistance in the form of image maps, infographics, videos, or blog posts
•    Researching and defining technical and business terminology
•    Proof-reading and editing user interface texts for usability and readability
•    Working in a cross-functional and international team with developers and product managers as well as other information developers and translators

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills
•    University degree in technical writing, computer science, communications, new media, translation or a related subject
•    Excellent written and spoken English and German
•    Ability to work on different parallel activities and in multiple teams under tight deadlines
•    You enjoy contact with people and passing on your knowledge to others

Preferred skills
•    Practical experience in creating documentation preferably in DITA
•    Experience with content creation for social media or production of videos and infographics
•    SAP product knowledge
•    Familiarity with database administration tasks or reference/developer documentation is a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE
We are looking for recent or upcoming graduates and more professional candidates with 0-5 years of work experience alike.
