Department Description:

The Critical Systems Security Science and Technology Group engineers inherently secure and resilient solutions for information, control, and cross\-domain systems by anticipating, assessing, and mitigating high\-consequence vulnerabilities\. The Group innovates and develops security risk management approaches for information technologies, control systems, and cyber physical interfaces\. We also lead the development of a capability to collect and analyze disparate information in an effort to improve our nuclear event situational awareness with the Vision “Prevent nuclear terrorism and proliferation everywhere, every time\.”

Job Summary:

We are seeking Solutions Architects, to apply technical judgment, skills, and experience to do national security work in vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, and cybersecurity\. Broad range of project application topics include security for systems, networks, wireless communications, applications, industrial control systems, operating systems, virtual machines, cloud computing, embedded systems, cryptography, analytics, modeling and simulation, network vulnerability analysis and penetration testing\. Opportunities for leadership are available depending on qualifications and performance\. Domestic and international travel opportunities are also available, as is the ability to collaborate with leading university, corporate, and government partners\.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related discipline plus two years of relevant professional experience; or a Master’s or doctorate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related discipline\.
+ Experience or training in object\-oriented design principles
+ Experience or training in developing solid software from software design specifications
+ Experience writing detailed program files


+ Experience and ability to function in a dynamic, fast\-paced, multi\-disciplinary team
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Experience with the C\+\+/Java/C\# family of languages
+ Experience with Javascript, Ruby, XML, and web development frameworks \(e\.g\., JQuery, HTML/CSS\)
+ Experience with OSGi
+ Experience with iOS and/or android mobile application engineering
+ Experience with an Agile Development methodology
+ Experience with rule engines and/or machine learning
+ Experience with Test\-driven development
+ Experience with Oracle, database, SQL, JDBC, Accumulo or other Non\-SQL databases
+ Previous experience working with a Government\-sponsored 24x7 operations center
+ Knowledge of KML/geo\-location/mapping
+ Extensive experience in multiple areas of Cyber Security as it applies to securing platform IT and enterprise class networks
+ Active Q clearance
+ Active SCI clearances or the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance which may require polygraph testing

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.
