There is currently a position available for a staff member to participate in the verification of the US Air Force W80\-4 warhead controller unit subsystem \(WCU\)\. The position involves working with the systems’ customers to understand and verify implementation of the requirements and interface specifications to the cruise missile\. You will also work with a team of engineers to assist in the verification of the common fuze controller blocks that will be utilized for the both the Air Force W80\-4 and future warheads currently being developed under our technology maturation portfolio\. The objective is to verify that a robust, flexible, radiation\-hardened, ultra\-reliable subsystem has been realized which can then be integrated into the larger system\. Some travel may be involved\.


+ MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
+ Basic knowledge of digital verification \(i\.e\. directed test bench, Universal Verification Methodology \(UVM\), etc\.\)
+ Experience in digital integrated circuit design using VHDL or Verilog Hardware Description Language
+ Good interpersonal communication, verbal and technical writing skills
+ Ability to work well in a team environment with integrated review processes
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a required US DOE security clearance


Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:

+ Experience with Mentor Graphics Questa Advanced Simulator tools
+ Experience in logic verification, preferably System Verilog/UVM
+ Experience in writing formal requirements, verification plans, and verification reports
+ Experience using hardware emulation technology for verification acceleration and system level verification of multiple digital ICs
+ Active DOE Q or DOD TS Clearance

Department Description:

The Digital Design & Verification Department \(Organization 5351\) is responsible for design, development and support of electronic subsystems that manage the arming and fuzing functions for the nuclear deterrent of this nation\. Personnel within 5351 also play a key role in development, maturation, and deployment of advanced technologies for next\-generation weapon systems\. The department specializes in digital logic design, as well as the integrating software to control and test real\-time embedded systems\. Current work includes realization of five Application\-Specific Integrated Circuits \(ASICs\) that are destined for Navy and Air Force systems\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
