Job Description


We are seeking an Emergency Response Team First Responder\. You will provide emergency response services which include confined space/technical rescue, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials response\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Perform inventories, tracking and monitoring the testing and replacement of emergency response equipment, ensuring that equipment meets procedure requirements, coordinating purchases, and additional duties as assigned\.
+ Provide input for the development, reviews, and/or revision of plans, and Standard Operating Procedures \(SOPs\) pertaining to the Emergency Response Team\.
+ Follow all Sandia/NM Corporate and Emergency Management policy, plans, and procedures\.

This position requires the availability and commitment to work occasional off shifts \(weekends and before/after normal scheduled work hours\)\. This positions does require occasional travel to support operations in other states\.

Additionally, you will need to pass a Job Placement Assessment \(JPA\) for essential job functions fitness assessment and maintain and demonstrate the strength and endurance necessary to perform essential tasks of the job and be qualified to wear a respirator\.


+ Five years of experience as an emergency first responder\.
+ Possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license\.
+ Certification per 29 CFR 1910\.120/NFPA 472 as a hazmat operations level\.
+ Possess a New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician Basic \(EMT\-B\) license or higher \(EMT \- Intermediate, EMT\-Paramedic\)\.


+ Possess a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician Basic \(EMT\-B\) license or higher \(EMT \- Intermediate, EMT\-Paramedic\)\.
+ Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic level \(EMT \- P\)\.
+ Certification per 29 CFR 1910\.120/NFPA 472 as a hazmat technician\.
+ Qualified as a NFPA 1670 Rescue Technician \(ROCO or equivalent\) or able to acquire within six months of hiring date\.
+ Qualified as a NWCG Wildland Firefighter Type 2 or NFPA 1051 Wildland Firefighter I \(or Higher\)\. This shall be demonstrated by Certificate, “Red Card”, course completion certificates for NWCG required \(PMS 310\-1\) FFT2 courses, or NWCG Task Book signature pages\.
+ Active DOE security clearance\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
