Job Description


We are seeking an Intern Year Round \- Clerical Union Undergrad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Review various folders
+ Perform research and order office supplies
+ Perform weekly metrics log upkeep
+ Assist with various types of organization
+ Perform small office tasks \(Making phone lists, cleaning, helping out with small Inspection tasks\)
+ Perform escorting of non\-cleared individuals


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 2\.5/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will be represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union \(OPEIU\), which requires monthly membership dues or agency fees\. New hires into an OPEIU represented position will remain in the initial position for twelve \(12\) months before being eligible to be considered for other Sandia employment\.

+ Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite software
+ Basic work skills such as reliability, critical thinking, and organization are expected – these skills can be demonstrated by school, job, or volunteer activities or noted by references
+ Strong written and oral communication skills


+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize a variety of activities in a fast\-paced environment
+ Strong customer service skills
+ Experience in and flexibility/adaptability to an environment where priorities change quickly
+ Higher level skills in Microsoft Office Suite software or other technical software for data collection, data processing, in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Adobe Illustrator
+ Mature oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by coursework or project assignments

Department Description:

The Manufacturing Liaison team is part of the Supply Chain Management Center\. Manufacturing Liaison provides technical expertise and acts as liaison for mechanical and special process fabricate\-to\-print manufacturing performed by Sandia National Laboratory suppliers\. The team works with external fabrication suppliers to deliver quality product on time and at the best possible price\. The team has expertise in design for manufacturability, design definition for fabrication, fabrication project management, fabrication techniques and supplier capability\. The team is also responsible for in\-coming dimensional mechanical measurement of Manufacturing Liaison acquired product using state of the art equipment in temperature controlled environments\. Manufacturing Liaison is responsible for and maintains a supplier quality management system to assist in source selection\. Manufacturing Liaison is ISO registered as part of the Supply Chain Management Center\.

Security Clearance:

This position does not currently require a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted security clearance\.

Sandia will conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record checks, and employment and education verifications\. Further, employees in New Mexico must pass a U\.S\. Air Force background screen for access to the work site\.
