Job Description

:

We are seeking an Intern Year Round \- Clerical Undergrad

The student intern for the Executive Protocol Office will work directly with management, protocol officers and administrative staff members to execute daily tasks required to run the organization as well as plan and executive tasks associated with distinguished level meetings and events\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Prepare and print table tents, name badges and/or welcome packets
+ Perform material management for events
+ Maintain email distribution lists
+ Manage outlook calendars
+ Maintain vehicle schedules
+ Assist with guest escorting
+ Catering set\-up/clean\-up
+ Manage processes

Required:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 2\.5/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

A job placement assessment \(JPA\) will be required as part of the screening for this position\. This JPA will evaluate your ability to meet the physical requirements of this job\.

Additional Requirements:

+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work effectively with others
+ Very strong proficiency with all of the following Microsoft products: Explorer, Outlook, Word, Excel \(i\.e\. mail merge\), and PowerPoint
+ Excellent presentation skills
+ Proven self\-starter who can work in a flexible, fast\-paced, critical deadline, cooperative teaming atmosphere
+ Strong organizational skills

Desired:

+ Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management, Project Management or Business Administration or closely related field of study
+ Experience working in the hospitality field
+ Proficiency with the following Microsoft products: SharePoint, Project, InfoPath, and Publisher

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
