Job Description


The Network, Telecom & Infrastructure Operations \(10770\) organization consists of seven departments that provide the Sandia workforce with an effective, stable and secure computing environment\. This environment includes a set of IT services and tools such as data center operations, systems operation center, telecom infrastructure, telecom security, enterprise middleware, infrastructure computing and storage, network design and operations, cloud computing, cyber protections, and tools for IT providers to monitor/manage our IT services\. The organization’s focus is delivering a high quality, reliable, and secure telecommunication and computing infrastructure, both unclassified and classified, to Sandia to meet the business needs and facilitate the outcomes desired by our customers and programs\.

An opening exists for a customer\-oriented, enthusiastic and motivated manager to manage the 10770 organization\. The senior manager is responsible for providing leadership, advocacy and vision for a team of dedicated managers\. The 10770 senior manager is expected to collaborate and partner with the 10700 management team to execute the mission of the 10770 group\. The preferred candidate will have a broad range of IT domain knowledge with a demonstrated history of innovative solutions and excellent customer service\.


+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or relevant discipline plus ten or more years of experience, or equivalent:

- experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job\.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE Q\-level security clearance\.


+ Project Management \(PMI\) certification\.
+ Expertise with or strong understanding of the ITIL service framework\.
+ Leadership skills, team player, strong interpersonal skills\.
+ Demonstrated record of driving results\.
+ Demonstrated ability providing critical thinking on wide range of technical & nontechnical issues\.
+ Ability to mentor a management team and senior\-level exempt professionals on future needs of the group\.
+ Demonstrated ability to establish and execute on a strategy for IT services\.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead diverse cross\-organizational teams\.
+ Demonstrated ability of leading an organization in the development and execution of innovative services, including automation of infrastructure services\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
