Job Description

:

We are seeking Security Generalists to participate in the Safeguards and Security \(S&S\) Training Program to gain basic knowledge of the S&S programs through classroom and information sessions, tours, hands\-on training opportunities, job shadowing, and self\-study\. Through a variety of venues, personnel will become familiar with S&S job functions, issues and concerns, polices and processes, mitigation strategies, etc\.

Upon completion of the training program in 3 to 4 months, individuals will either be selected for a vacant position within the security program such as Performance Assurance, Personnel Security, Security Connection, Physical or Technical Security, CMPC, etc, or will begin a rotation within the security program to further hone knowledge and skills\.

Candidates applying on this requisition may be interviewed and/or hired into one of

several organizations at Sandia National Laboratories\. Placement will be based on program needs, participant interest, and job fit\. Program participants will work together in a fun and challenging environment under the guidance and leadership of an experienced staff member\.

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Project Management, or other relevant discipline plus entry level experience; or master's degree in relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience\.

Desired:

+ Knowledge of DOE security orders and directives\.
+ Experience conducting root cause analysis\.
+ Demonstrated ability to team for success\.
+ Demonstrated ability to turn data into meaningful information to guide decisions\.
+ Active DOE/DOD security clearance\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
