Job Description

We are seeking a R&D S&E, Systems Engineering

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Use systems engineering principles to execute product realization for JTA components\.
+ Lead component development and qualification activities\.
+ Work closely with Kansas City National Security Campus staff and product vendors to execute component development and qualification\.
+ Oversee component hardware procurements and hardware disposition for flight tests, ground tests and other program needs\.
+ Manage cost, schedule and performance for component development and qualification\.
+ Present development/qualification status in various venues and audiences\.

Required:

+ Bachelor's and advanced degree \(Master's or PhD\) in relevant STEM discipline; or Bachelor's in relevant STEM discipline plus 4 years relevant experience in lieu of an advanced degree
+ Active US DOE Q security clearance or DoD Top Secret clearance

Desired:

+ Experience in nuclear weapons work at Sandia\.
+ Experience in nuclear weapon product realization
+ Experience in the nuclear weapons product definition system\.
+ Experience working with Kansas City on product development and qualification\.
+ Experience managing budget and schedule
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment\.

Department Description:

The B61\-12 Non\-WR Systems Engineering department \(2324\) is one of ten departments responsible for the Sandia system program management, design and qualification of the B61\-12 life extension program \(LEP\)\. These ten departments work closely with each other and with other agencies within the Nuclear Security Enterprise \(e\.g\., NNSA, Kansas City Plant, Pantex Plant\) and within the DoD \(e\.g\., Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center\) to execute the B61 LEP\. Department 2324 is responsible for the design and delivery of non\-WR system assemblies for the B61\-12: Joint Test Assembly \(JTA\), Compatibility Test Units \(CTUs\), Trainers and Ancillary Equipment, and Flight Bodies/IOT&E bodies\. The department activities include design, testing and assembly and interfaces heavily with the other B61\-12 departments as well as with system and component organizations throughout Sandia\.
