Job Description

:

We are seeking a Solutions Architect

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Define, update, troubleshoot, and maintain corporate videoconferencing infrastructure and standard service offering
+ Develop, define and support system architecture and requirements for videoconferencing in a unified communications framework
+ Assist in developing supporting business cases for new technologies and initiatives
+ Communicate business benefits to end users, senior management and across functions\.
+ Develop design standards for end points and rooms for the corporation
+ Maintain extensive and detailed plans and documentation
+ Technical liaison to desktop, mobile, corporate computing, networking, telecommunications organizations
+ Write technology investment proposals for the department
+ SME with change control process
+ Pro\-actively engage in and improve industry partnering relationships
+ Provide leadership and consulting to other NNSA and DOE sites regarding videoconferencing communications solutions
+ Possess solid understanding of the competitive landscape and ability to articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition of solutions
+ Lead the technical development effort of the department

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience architecting solutions for IP\-based videoconferencing
+ Demonstrated expert skills in architecting IT, communications and standards\-based videoconferencing systems
+ Expert skills in working with videoconferencing and network IT systems and infrastructure including but not limited to:oVideoconference bridges, routers, gatekeepers, gatewaysoNetworking technologies including LAN, WAN, switching, routing, Ethernet, Internet, VPN: Protocols and standards including IP, UDP, TCP, SIP, RTP, RTCP, SS7, H\.248, ISDN \(Q\.921 and Q\.931\), DNS, ITU H\.series for videoconferencing, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/TFTP, SSH, IPv4, IPv6, SSL, TelnetoUnified Communications Technologies including IP Telephony, IP Video, Audio Conferencing, Web Conferencing, Videoconferencing and Telepresence,

Desired:

BS in Computer Science or Engineering

10\+ years experience with:

+ AV standards and related industry standards for videoconferencing including but not limited to ITU H series, IEEE, IETF, and SMPTE\.
+ Architecture for videoconferencing including bridging, gatekeepers, gateways and server technology\.
+ Videoconferencing codecs, cameras, AV routers, displays, data and audio systems and in the application of facilities requirements for collaboration including lighting and acoustics\.
+ Architecting videoconference and AV systems to meet the security requirements of classified, OUO and cyber security policies
+ Product expertise and experience with products and technologies from Cisco and Polycom endpoints and infrastructure components a plus\.

The Videoconferencing & Collaborative Technologies group is responsible for providing a reliable interactive communication capability that enables Sandians to effectively share ideas, concepts and information\. The tools that we support are: collaboration studios and conference rooms, videoconferencing technologies, and desktop videoconferencing and application sharing\.

Security Clearance:
