Job Description


We are seeking a LTD TRM TIER 4 \- ADMN SVCS

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ The duties of this position require the applicant to provide exceptional customer service as customer service is an integral part of the job\.
+ The applicant must be a good listener;
+ be able to identify and anticipate the needs of the customer, make customers feel important and appreciated
+ help customers follow Sandia’s processes and find way to help meet the customer’s needs all while ensuring processes are followed
+ The successful candidate will assist employees, contractors, consultants and visitors by processing security clearance requests \(access authorizations\) and issuing badges success controls\)
+ These processes are facilitated by a team of 14 represented personnel who team together to ensure customers are processed, authorized and issued the appropriate clearance and badge to access Sandia premises\.
+ Some of the components of the processes include:

1\) employee, contractor and consultant clearance processing and verification;

2\) reinvestigations;

3\) incoming/outgoing visits;

4\) HSPD12 Federal Credential enrollment, activation and updates;

5\) badge issuance\. In addition, the selected candidate will be required to conduct data analysis, identify issues, and provide solutions/enhancements to databases, processes and procedures\. They will utilize and become an expert on various program specific databases\. The candidate shall meet processing timeline expectations and respond to inquiries in a timely manner\. Attention to detail is critical as the selected candidates must ensure that procedures are followed to ensure that only authorized access is granted to employees, contractors, consultants and visitors\. In addition, the selected candidate must provide the customer constant instruction to ensure adherence to established processes, policies and procedures\.


+ The successful applicant will begin work at the Badge Office Front Counter with the opportunity to learn other Clearance Office/Badge Office functions or rotate to other desks in the future based on Program needs\.
+ Job criteria must be reflected in the resume and demonstrated during the interview\.
+ The position requires constant movement throughout the day and the ability to work at multiple workstations\.

Candidates must:

+ be people oriented with excellent customer service skills in include diplomacy, patience, courtesy, empathy, friendliness, positive attitude, etc\.;
+ have ability to work with sensitive information, use discretion and maintain confidentiality; have great attention to detail;
+ team well with others;

+ have ability to follow documented processes and procedures;
+ be able to learn quickly and be adaptable to new and changing situations;
+ have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt and become an expert with positions specific databases\.

+ Experience with DOE/NNSA or DOD Security and working with DOE/NSNA or DOD directives\.
+ Experience working with all level of DOE/NNSA and Sandia members of the workforce\.
+ Experience utilizing DOE/NNSA and SNL databases related to security clearances and badging \(i\.e\., Central Personnel Clearance Index \(CPCI\), Weapon Data Access Control System \(WDACS\), Access Control Enabling System \(ACES\), Enterprise Person, USAccess, Oracle, and/or Contract Security Management Database\)\.

Department Description:

Personnel Security includes the Badge Office, Clearance Office, Foreign Interactions Office, Human Reliability Program and Background Investigations Program\. We ensure positive access control for DOE resources through the issuance of DOE badges, the processing of security clearances and visits as well as administration of the Human Reliability Program and Foreign Interactions Program\. Additionally, we conduct background investigations on potential employees of Sandia\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance\. Required Testing:

Applicants must meet the minimum pre\-requisites to be scheduled for testing\. The applicant will be contacted and scheduled for the next available test date\. All applicants must be prepared to test upon application submittal\. Once successful testing has been completed, the hiring manager will be notified\.

Full consideration will not be given to applicants that have not met all of the pre\-requisites including testing\. Interviews will not be scheduled until the applicant has successfully test\-qualified and has been selected by the manager as a top applicant\. Passing the test does not guarantee an interview or a selection\.

If the applicant is not able to schedule testing within the time constraints of the position posting, selection timelines, and the available test dates, they will not be considered for the position\. It is imperative that applicants are immediately available for testing in order to provide the best opportunities\.

**This is a temporary position\. Limited Term Employees \(LTE\) are hired for up to one \(1\) year, with the option to extend the one \(1\) year assignment one \(1\) additional year, upon mutual agreement between the Laboratories and the Union, for a total of two \(2\) years maximum\. LTEs are required to meet all testing requirements\.**
