We are seeking a R&D Electrical Engineering

The DoD Security System Analysis & Engineering Department has new opportunities for Electrical Engineers to join our team and provide support to innovative projects\. Successful candidates will have a strong educational or professional background in cutting\-edge electrical sensing, assessment communication, and data fusion technologies, along with seamless component integration into a high performance system\.

Domestic and international travel, up to 30 to 60% of the time, is required\.

Required:

+ Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline\.
+ Experience with electrical sensing, assessment, communication, and data fusion technologies\.
+ Experience with component integration into a high performance system\.
+ Experience in field testing, technology development, and system integration work\.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance; ability to travel for up to 30\-60% of the time\.

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels \(written and verbal\)\.
+ Strong academic background \(degree discipline, GPA, and graduation dates must be included in your resume for consideration\)\.
+ Undergraduate GPA of 3\.0 or higher and a Graduate GPA of 3\.5 or higher\.

Department Description:

The Security System Analysis & Engineering Department, \(6513\) is a component of Sandia's Weapons & Force Protection Center\. Department 6513 is responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of complex physical security systems to protect critical DoD and DOE assets and defense capabilities\. The department provides project management and subject matter experts in the area of risk analysis, intrusion detection, video assessment, communications, entry control and Alarm Communication and Display, and response force planning\. These subject matter experts are developed internally with extensive hands on training and external educational opportunities\. Department employees have the ability to lead and/or participate as a subject matter expert in vulnerability/risk analysis studies, engineering studies, system design, Sensor and access control component testing, development, and integration of complex physical security systems \(PSS\) for DoD, DOE and other government agencies\. Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, and Civil Engineers primarily fill these roles\. This department is currently working with the DOE, US Navy, US Air Force, and US Army to enhance the effectiveness of critical asset protection at CONUS/OCONUS installations through several multi\-million dollar initiatives\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
