Job Description


The National Security Partnerships and Business Development Department is seeking a Business Development Professional to support Sandia’s technical programs to identify and develop program and partnership opportunities, shape programmatic and technology strategy and manage marketing/communication efforts, primarily in the National Security Programs Division\.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Formulate technical business development plans, goals, and objectives for technology programs and implement these as part of a team
+ Advise technical management on technology/product directions based on a combination of technical knowledge, competitive intelligence and industry/market experience
+ Guide management through the capture planning process
+ Foster internal/external partner relationships and engage with potential stakeholders, primarily in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community
+ Develop, implement and drive strategic initiatives for maximum national security impact
+ Support Sandia technical organizations to select partners for maturing/commercializing technology applications for national security needs


+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus 2 years' relevant experience
+ Experience with business development
+ Experience with customer relationship management techniques
+ Experience working as a part of a team to win programs
+ Experience with state\-of\-the\-art management of technology, marketing and sales tools and processes
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoE Q clearance


+ Masters degree in a relevant discipline
+ Experience with customer retention related to such agencies as the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community

Department Description:

The National Security Partnerships and Business Development Department is responsible for providing embedded business development support to Sandia’s mission programs and portfolios to enable the development of national security programs and partnerships\. The department is responsible for the creation and implementation of programmatic and technology strategy, capture planning, federal, academic and industry engagement and other marketing and business development efforts for the groups it supports\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
