Job Description


We are seeking an Intern Summer \- Technical Undergrad

This is a summer internship opportunity with the potential to be converted to a year\-round intern\. Interns within this position will gain experience in web design and development\. You will participate on web development teams and assist with various aspects of web development projects and web product maintenance\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Assist with some aspects of project management
+ Assist with user interface and interaction design
+ Assist with user experience research
+ Assist with programming
+ Conduct web maintenance, or web analytics


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time \(or scheduled to graduate in the spring\) in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position\.

Additional Requirements:

+ Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree majoring in one of the following: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Human Computer Interaction, Communications/Media, Graphic Design, or similar field
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
+ Organizational skills and ability to effectively communicate with team members and others outside of the department
+ Basic knowledge of the software development lifecycle and/or the creative design process
+ Experience building web pages with HTML and CSS
+ Knowledge of one or more of the following: web design, interaction design, user experience, information architecture, content strategy and development, quality assurance, programming


+ Experience working with data analysis and creating data visualizations
+ Knowledge of collaboration tools and concepts such as wikis
+ Experience in programming languages such as PHP, Angular, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, JavaScript, or WordPress

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.
