Job Description

:

We are seeking an Intern Summer \- Business Undergrad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Support Prime Contract Administration
+ Support the processing of Freedom of Information Act \(FOIA\) requests by: determining if received documentation is responsive to the FOIA request, preparing responses and material for delivery to the Sandia Field Office \(SFO\), maintaining and updating the FOIA spreadsheet and status report, entering data in the database, and preparing records to go to Corporate Archives
+ Maintain the Correspondence Control System \(CCS\) by ensuring that all official external correspondence is entered and tracked within the system, including \(but not limited to\) official correspondence between SNL and NNSA, SSO, and the DOE as well as other external customers and stakeholders
+ Assist in the development of Sandia’s Performance Evaluation Plan \(PEP\) and Performance Evaluation & Assurance Report \(PEAR\), including \(but not limited to\): preparing for PEP Steering Committee meetings, developing and maintaining SharePoint sites, formatting of final documents, preparing templates, maintaining and formatting the Lab Performance Evaluation Site in ILMS by uploading documents into FileNet and making them available for viewing
+ Assist with information technology needs \(depending on intern’s skills\), including HTML, JavaScript, ColdFusion and Web programming \(troubleshooting using Dreamweaver/Adobe and administering solutions to web sites\)
+ Assist with various administrative and general office tasks, including \(but not limited to\) working with staff to meet their meeting, conference room, filing, document update, and budget update needs

The successful candidate for this position should be reliable and motivated, taking pride in the quality of work performed\. The student will need to be familiar with Microsoft programs \(Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc\.\) and be able to research and answer questions that may arise involving these programs\. The candidate must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to interact with staff and management\. The candidate should feel comfortable working on projects both individually and as part of a team\.

Required:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time \(or scheduled to graduate in the spring\) in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position\.

+ Evidence of successful enrollment in an applicable undergraduate degree
+ Experience in a professional environment
+ Experience with developing and maintaining software applications including SharePoint
+ Demonstrated initiative and ability to motivated self\-starter
+ Ability to build relationships and team with others

Department Description:

Sandia National Laboratories is operated under a Management and Operating Contract \(the “Prime Contract”\)\. The Prime Contract Department Org\. 11011 \(PCD\) administers the Prime Contract between NTESS and the National Nuclear Security Administration \(NNSA\)\. PCD negotiates contractual requirements, establishes and sustains relationships with the DOE/NNSA and provides consistent and clear guidance to Sandia management and staff on contractual requirements\. Key functions include Prime Contract Administration, Cost Allowability, Department of Energy Directives, Laboratory Performance Evaluation, Freedom of Information Act \(FOIA\), Organizational Conflicts of Interest \(OCI\), Home Office Cost Administration, etc\.

Security Clearance:

This position does not currently require a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted security clearance\.

Sandia will conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record checks, and employment and education verifications\. Further, employees in New Mexico must pass a U\.S\. Air Force background screen for access to the work site\.
