Job Description

:

We are seeking an Intern Year Round \- R&D Undergrad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Develop technical requirements with design engineers
+ Modify tester software profiles in LabVIEW to meet design requirements
+ Troubleshoot hardware and software in custom built testers
+ Work with battery team leads to test and review test data results
+ Design and coordinate the manufacture of custom electronic and mechanical testing hardware
+ Develop detailed project plans outlining the technical execution of the work scope
+ Provide staff and management updates to project plans

Required:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

Additional Requirements:

+ Current undergraduate enrollment in an electrical engineering program or computer engineering program
+ Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to help modify hardware and software
+ Familiarity with Labview and Matlab

Department Description:

The Power Source Components Department has two major tasks\. The first is the production of batteries for the Concurrent Design and Manufacturing program for which our engineers oversee the production of thermal, silver zinc, and other batteries at selected vendors in the U\.S\. These batteries must meet stringent quality control requirements as well as rigorous test requirements in order to be shipped for use on DP programs\. Our second task includes the design, development, assembly and maintenance of various testers for the Power Source Technology Group's components and other products\. We carry out tests not only for our DP customer but also for WFO and other customers as well\.

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.
